Two 15U players ranked by Travel Baseball Rankings

Lucas Basta was ranked No. 13 in the Class of 2026 by Travel Baseball Rankings.

Travel Baseball Rankings named Lucas Basta and Rhys Canan to the organization’s first player rankings for the 2026 class.

Canan and Basta are two of the top players on the PF Flyers-Edwards 15U team.

Canan ranked 11th, and Basta ranked 13th. The rankings featured 15 players, mostly from the Midwest.

Canan led the Flyers with a 13-1 record in 26 appearances, had the most innings pitched on the team with 67 2/3, and led the team with 68 strikeouts. He often pitched against the best opponents and despite that posted a 2.38 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. On May 29, he pitched a five-inning, complete-game no-hitter against the Cincy Flames top team. After he transitioned to a pitcher-only role in May, he had a 1.11 ERA in 44 innings pitched and a WHIP of 0.91. After July 1, he allowed only one run and only nine hits in 19 1/3 innings.

Rhys Canan was ranked No. 11.

Basta has continued to improve and excel. In the last two years, he has trained extremely hard and transformed his body by losing significant body fat, and gaining muscle to become more athletic. He transitioned from being mostly a catcher to one of the top shortstops in the State of Ohio. He is an excellent baserunner, and led the Flyers with 44 stolen bases -- in 45 attempts. He often took extra bases with heads up hustle. He also led the team in home runs with two. He was second on the team in triples with five.
