PF Flyers offering indoor facility membership program

Team practices alone are not enough to develop young men into high level baseball players. Players of all ages need to work outside of practice to improve a variety of skills.

That’s why the PF Flyers Baseball Club is adding a crucial new offering for Flyers players – an annual membership to use the Flyers’ indoor facility.

The membership – open only to Flyers players – will allow players to work with their parents, coaches and peers to develop their hitting, pitching, fielding and other baseball related skills.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for our players,” Flyers Board President Brandon Edwards said. “This program will allow our players and family members to come and use our indoor facility to work on whatever they need to work on. Starting at the youngest ages, the players who are getting lots of reps improve and grow the fastest.”

The membership program became possible this month when the Flyers organization secured full control of the indoor space through a partnership with ProForce Sports Performance.

The annual membership fee works out to approximately $60 per month.

“As a parent, I’ve rented hitting and pitching lanes at $30-40 per hour. Those costs add up fast,” Flyers director of communications Mike Canan said. “At that $30 per hour rate, members only have to use the facility roughly twice a month for membership to pay for itself.”

And open indoor space can be difficult to find – especially at key times such as rainy days in season and the weeks leading up to high school baseball tryouts and the start of the youth baseball season.

“We have seen with our nationally ranked 15U team that players want to get extra work,” Edwards said. “With the Flyers, we want to make sure we remove as many barriers as possible so players can get in the work they want and need.”
