PF Flyers 9U wins first tournament

PF Flyers 9U won its first tournament this weekend, winning the 2024 USSSA Bearcat Classic.

The Flyers scored a whopping 49 runs in three games, outscoring their opponents 49-10.

The Flyers pitchers allowed only four hits on the weekend, including throwing a no-hitter in the second game of pool play on Saturday.

The Flyers begin pool play with a 12-7 win. Tate Brashear went 2-for-4 with four RBI.

In the second game of pool play, Greyson Williams, Brashear and Carter Merrill combined for the no-hitter in a three-inning, 20-2 win. Williams struck out three. Brashear and Merrill each pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts.

The Flyers pounded out 20 hits. Each Flyer had at least one hit. Jase Haggard was 3-for-3 with a double and 6 RBI. Charlie Cochran was 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBI. Cohen Darnell was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI.

The pool play wins sent the Flyers to the championship game. Darnell and Williams combined for a one-hitter, striking out six. The game ended after three innings with the Flyers earning the 17-1 win and the championship.

Dylan Weiner went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI.

The Flyers are now 8-1.
